Paper Rosettes

Wondering why I've been MIA?...well I was vacationing in Sn. Francisco, CA. Had the most amazing time with my hubby and my Bestie Jess from KinderstampO and her lovely family.  "Both our husbands were there on business so we decided to meet them out there and at the same time make a mini vacation out of it.  I will be posting pics soon.  But for now I would like to share with you a  commissioned project I made for one of my co-workers.  I used the Tim Holtz Sizzix Paper Rosette Dies, My Creative Time "Mom You Rock" Stamp set and some bling using my I-Rock from Imaginisce. This is an 8X8 LO. Enjoy!

Quilly Hugs to all and I'll see you next time!

My Craft Space - Part 2

Hello my sweet crafty friends!  I hope all you mommies had a fantastic day yesterday!  I sure did have an awesome and blessed day with my 3 little ones and my hubby.  I had an awesome breakfast served by my 6 yr old and my hubby.  My mom was able to join us, that made it super special.  Then we headed out to the City to have dinner with my sister in law and her family.  That was also fun. My children gave me a year subscription to Crafts Magazine, fun, fun, fun... like i said before I hope all of you had a wonderful day yesterday.  I think that Mothers should be celebrated every day of the year!hehehe
Well today I would like to share with you part 2 of my Crafty Dungeon.  Here it is the finished hutch. It is now housing my stamping supplies.  All of my Stampin Up stamps, my cuttlebug, stamp pads, and card making tools.

Here's another view of this storage cabinet.

View of the opposite side.  On this side I keep all of my paper stacks in those plastic containers.  I have my Dreamkutz, my laptop etc..
I have my Baby bug in this table I bought at Michael's.  It has a drop down leaf for space saver.  What you see behind the bug is my laundry space, my dryer...hehehe...I get to craft and do laundry at the same time,  how fun is that!! :)

Here's the view of my little space. As you can see it's not that big.  I still need to decorate that wall!
This is the view when you enter my space.  I got these corner panels from my Mom.  She's had them for a while and was not using them.  The rugs are mismatched as you can see.  These were runners I had for a few years and then we decided to go bare floors, we had our wooden floors redone and we decided to send these runners to the basement.  A tip... use what you have and be glad...hehehe...
This is the view when you enter my little crafty area!
I use this as my cutting area.  This little lamp was also going to make the donation box but I saved it.  It gives my space a cozier look.

This is how I store all of my Quilling and Paper Stacks.  The gray and white rug is a new area rug I bought at Ikea.  and as you can see it was too short for my area so I combined it with those runner rugs.  One day I will have finished floors!!!! Ahh can't wait, in the mean time I'm using what I have!
In these plastic containers I store all of my Quilled finished cards and 6X6 LO's and the Green plastic container I store all of My Creative Time's Stamp sets...I have 20 now! love 'em all...thanks to Ms. Emma for asking me to be part of her first Design Team...
Well this is it for today my friends.  I hope you had a fun tour of my crafty nook.  It's not finished yet! so  stay tuned for another episode of my Crafty Dungeon.  Thank you for stopping by.  Just remember, you don't need much to make a little space your very own.  Use what you have and be creative!
Until next time!  Quilly Hugs to all!

"Cinco de Mayo"- Blog Hop

Welcome to the "Cinco de Mayo" Blog Hop- Hosted by Abby from ScrapbookaholicAbby
If you arrived here from KICH you are going on the right direction.  If you happen to stop by and say hi, don't miss the fun and begin at ABBY's Blog.  Even though I am not of Mexican descent, I have a sister that was born in this beautiful country, and my family and I lived there for almost a year and a half when I was 2 yrs old.  But also Mexico is my neighbor country.  I was born in Central America.  My country is right underneath Mexico making us neighbors.  Guess what country I come from?...correct Guatemala.  I was born there but  raised in the US.  So yes my native language is Spanish.  I read it, write it and speak it too.  Well to commemorate this day and go with the theme of the hop I created a card that shows a little bit of Mexico....I love Piñatas so I decided to make one with Quilling. This would be the first time I make a Quilled pinata, I like the outcome, what do you think?

 5 de Mayo Piñata

Cardstock- Stampin' Up
Pinata Embellishment- 1/8" Quilling Paper
Border Stamp- My Creative Time- My Little Firecracker

There is awesome Blog Candy over at Abby's.  For more chances at winning any of  these goodies simply leave a comment at every stop, it cannot get any easier!  Abby will randomly pick winners from all the blogs in this hop.
Thank you for stopping by and your Next Stop is MONICA

If you are wondering why the Cinco de Mayo celebration here's a brief about this day:

Cinco de Mayo (Spanish for "fifth of May") is a holiday held on May 5 that commemorates the Mexican army's unlikely victory over Frenchforces ...at the Battle of Puebla on May 5, 1862, under the leadership of General Ignacio Zaragoza Seguín. It is celebrated primarily in the state of Puebla and in the United States. While Cinco de Mayo sees limited significance in Mexico itself, the date is observed nationwide mostly in the United States as a celebration of Mexican heritage and pride. "Cinco de Mayo is not a Mexican holiday—it is an American Civil War holiday, created spontaneously by Mexicans and Latinos living in California who supported the fragile cause of defending freedom and democracy during the first years of that bloody war between the states." Cinco de Mayo is not Mexico's Independence Day, the most important national patriotic holiday in Mexico.

My Craft Space - Part I

Hello everyone!! Well wondering what I've been up to lately...here's something I would like to share with you today,  and in various episodes,  on how I turned a space in my unfinished basement into my very own little crafting nook.   I've always had a little space in my house that I used for  crafting.  The corner of my living room and my bedroom closet housed all of my crafting gadgets and storage units for a while until two weeks ago I decided to move downstairs to my Unfinished Basement!!! yikes yes un-finished, cold, dark...but with a little bit of creativity I turned a little space down there into my very  own "Crafting Space" in my Dungeon....just like my 6 year old decide to call it followed by my husband and rest of the family.  Here are some pictures of the before and after....It's still a work in process and bit by bit I will be showing you my progress, perhaps I would dare to post a video on my finished project, hmmm will think about it...:)hehehe

Here's the wall of my space...dirty and icky...

BEFORE
I washed it and then Primed It!then painted it with a can of paint I found in my garage.  It was an unopened can of paint left there since we renovated my bathroom and kitchen.  I think it was the wrong color and we were not able to return it.  The color is like a gray/light blue one...free paint so I said what the HECK!! as long as it covers the ugly looking white...lol and....here it is My New Painted Wall

AFTER
It sure looks better than what I started with doesn't it?
Since I was on a roll with all the painting, I found this hutch that has been sitting down here in the basement since the bottom was thrown away a few years ago because it was broken.  We kept the top, it actually belonged to my mother-in-law (RIP), we kept boxes of her belongings on the shelves, but I decided to clean it out and paint it.  The table that you see underneath it also belonged to my dear MIL, I believe it was a beauty table, it has two drawers.  So I decided to put these two pieces of furniture together and paint them with my FREE paint...LOL.   Check out how they turned out after my paining magic...

BEFORE

 AFTER
What do you think?
Nice storage unit for all of my Crafting Supplies...

Well this is it for today! Stay tuned to see how I am utilizing it now and for another episode on how I turned a Dungeon into a Marvelous Crafting Nook...hehehe...

Quilly Hugs to all and see you next time!
