My Craft Space - Part I

Hello everyone!! Well wondering what I've been up to lately...here's something I would like to share with you today,  and in various episodes,  on how I turned a space in my unfinished basement into my very own little crafting nook.   I've always had a little space in my house that I used for  crafting.  The corner of my living room and my bedroom closet housed all of my crafting gadgets and storage units for a while until two weeks ago I decided to move downstairs to my Unfinished Basement!!! yikes yes un-finished, cold, dark...but with a little bit of creativity I turned a little space down there into my very  own "Crafting Space" in my Dungeon....just like my 6 year old decide to call it followed by my husband and rest of the family.  Here are some pictures of the before and after....It's still a work in process and bit by bit I will be showing you my progress, perhaps I would dare to post a video on my finished project, hmmm will think about it...:)hehehe

Here's the wall of my space...dirty and icky...

BEFORE
I washed it and then Primed It!then painted it with a can of paint I found in my garage.  It was an unopened can of paint left there since we renovated my bathroom and kitchen.  I think it was the wrong color and we were not able to return it.  The color is like a gray/light blue one...free paint so I said what the HECK!! as long as it covers the ugly looking white...lol and....here it is My New Painted Wall

AFTER
It sure looks better than what I started with doesn't it?
Since I was on a roll with all the painting, I found this hutch that has been sitting down here in the basement since the bottom was thrown away a few years ago because it was broken.  We kept the top, it actually belonged to my mother-in-law (RIP), we kept boxes of her belongings on the shelves, but I decided to clean it out and paint it.  The table that you see underneath it also belonged to my dear MIL, I believe it was a beauty table, it has two drawers.  So I decided to put these two pieces of furniture together and paint them with my FREE paint...LOL.   Check out how they turned out after my paining magic...

What do you think?
Nice storage unit for all of my Crafting Supplies...

Well this is it for today! Stay tuned to see how I am utilizing it now and for another episode on how I turned a Dungeon into a Marvelous Crafting Nook...hehehe...

Quilly Hugs to all and see you next time!

  4. I'm inspired now to find a place for my quilling nook. Only problem, down here in Florida we don't have basements. They would be swimming pools because the water table is so high. Right now, my quilling supplies are stacked on the dining room table !
